Could you help keep the RSA running smoothly?
Membership Secretary – Volunteer Vacancy (from April 2026)
Our long-serving Membership Secretary, Duncan Boulton, will be retiring from the role in April 2026 after many years of valued service.
We are now seeking a volunteer to take on this important position within the Retired Staff Association.
About the role
Thanks to recent simplifications, the Membership Secretary’s duties are now more straightforward than ever. The main responsibilities include:
Maintaining and updating our membership records
Liaising with the pensions department when required
Ensuring we meet basic data-protection requirements
Supporting communication with members (with some Contrail tasks likely transferring to the editor)
Skills required
You do not need specialist IT knowledge.
The role suits someone who is:
Organised
Comfortable with straightforward administration
Able to work carefully with information
Full guidance, documentation, and a complete handover will be provided by Duncan and the committee.
Why this role matters
The Membership Secretary is essential to the smooth running of the RSA.
If we cannot appoint someone by April 2026, the committee will need to reconsider how we manage membership administration going forward.
